Our topic this week will be Animal Tracks & Sign. We will look for signs of life in the wilderness. The trail takes the visitor through grassland, oak woodland, riparian and sandy cactus scrub communities. A wide variety of plant and animal life is found in these areas. Comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, sunscreen, water and insect repellent are recommended.

This hike will take you past the Hot Springs while learning its history and geologic significance, then it’s up Cold Spring Canyon where you’ll find a wide variety of flowering plants under this beautiful Coast Live Oak canopy. Help Park Rangers and volunteers destroy non-native, invasive plants and learn why we must battle to keep the park pristine for our local habitat.
