School and Group Tours

  • Cost: $3 per student or adult
    Tours are 1 1/2 hours in length and include a zoo tour guide. Topics covered include habitats, adaptations, feeding habits, and general information about animals native to the southwestern United States. Tours are available for any grade level. Tours also include a short small animal presentation and a visit to the Irvine Park Nature Center.
  • Train ride at Irvine Park Railroad may be added to any tour for an additional school group fee of $4 per person.
  • All fees are to paid the day your group is scheduled for a tour. Please note 1 adult chaperone or teacher is required for every 10 students, and you will receive 1 free adult for every 10 students.
  • Tours must be booked in advance by calling Marcy Crede-Booth, Curator of Education, at (714) 973-6846.
  • Please note tours are NOT available on Sundays & Mondays.
  • Please inquire about bus and parking fees.

Preschool Programs

  • Ages: 3-4 years old only
    Cost: $5 (includes admission for child enrolled and ONE parent)
    * Additional parents/siblings/family/friends must pay admission fee to enter the zoo (please be understanding that we have limited space in our classroom).
  • These programs are approximately one hour in length and include hands-on learning, fun crafts, and meeting zoo animals up close.
  • Parent must accompany child for duration of the program.

  • Fees are to be paid the day of the scheduled program.
  • Please note Irvine Regional Park gate entry fee is NOT included with fee for zoo class. Irvine Park entry fee is $3 per vehicle on weekdays & $5 per vehicle on weekends.

Discovery Cart

  • The discovery cart is stationed inside the zoo and has lots of fun and educational hands-on artifacts for zoo guests to see & touch.

  • These carts are out when we have docent volunteers to staff them. On your next visit to the zoo, be sure to look out for the discovery cart!
