OC Parks operates Bayside Beach within Newport Harbor at 1901 Bayside Drive. This location also supports the Orange County Sheriff’s Harbor Patrol facility and the base for the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Narwhal.
Limited parking is available on site, and passenger pickup and drop-off is permitted within designated areas.
Shore hand-launching for canoes and kayaks is available. No trailered vessel launching is permitted. Vessel launching is available at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina: 949-729-3863 or info@newportdunes.com.
Five guest boat slips are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis. More information about renting the slips, as well as City of Newport Beach moorings, is available here.
A pump-out station and temporary dinghy tie-up area (24 hours maximum) are also available at this location.
The site includes restrooms, bicycle racks, picnic tables and benches, a beach volleyball court, drinking fountain and beach shower.
A beach wheelchair is available for reservations seven days a week at the OC Sheriff Newport Harbor Patrol Office at 1901 Bayside Dr, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625 on a first come, first served basis. Please provide two days of advance notice. The Harbor Patrol office hours are 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Contact Harbor Patrol via email at Harborpat@ocsheriff.gov, or at 949-723-1002 to make arrangements. Staff may be on patrol or responding to an emergency call and may not always be available to issue or accept a wheelchair. A valid driver's license or ID is required, in addition to a completed Liability Release Form.
No fishing is permitted.
Free Outrigger Canoe Program
Have you ever wanted to learn how to paddle in an outrigger canoe? Limited free lessons will be available at Bayside Beach within Newport Harbor (1901 Bayside Dr., Newport Beach, CA) with advance registration through the following clubs:
Limit one introductory lesson per person. Participants must be able to swim without assistance and may be asked to help transport the canoe in and out of the water (can carry up to 25 pounds). Contact clubs for requirements. Click here to view the program flyer.
