OC Parks Volunteers

OC Parks provides a variety of volunteer services across a very diverse system of regional parks, wilderness parks, historical parks, trails, beaches and open space.

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit anyone’s interest.

Specialized Training (Requires OC Parks Volunteer status first)

Eligibility

All OC Parks Volunteers complete a series of trainings to prepare for volunteer work with the public. This includes:

  • Program Orientation
  • Public Interaction Workshop
  • First Aid and CPR Training

OC Parks Volunteers are asked to commit 36 hours per year.

All OC Parks Volunteers must also complete a background check prior to any volunteer service. This check disqualifies anyone who has been convicted of:

  • Any sex offense
  • Any violent felony
  • Any other felony or misdemeanor that relates to volunteer functions at the discretion of OC Parks
  • Any pending cases awaiting adjudication

Benefits

Upon completion of core training, all OC Parks volunteers receive the following:

  • Access to advanced trainings
