Current OC Parks Volunteers should access volunteer pages to find out about training opportunities and volunteer activities.

For new prospective volunteers, we have two different types of opportunities.

OC Parks Volunteers  work directly with the public, wear a volunteer uniform, and receive important training in public interaction skills, customer service, CPR and First Aid. They provide a wide variety of visitor services to support park operations.

Short term volunteers serve on a limited basis for a specific project. They do not require specialized training and do not work directly with the public. This volunteer work is well suited for youth groups, corporate groups, or social groups wanting to make an immediate impact in Orange County’s regional park system.

Internships are available with OC Parks in a variety of different areas for both credit and non-credit placements. Interns receive an abbreviated orientation by staff, which includes goal setting and internship planning. All interns must complete a background check to the same standards for OC Parks Volunteers .
