Activities may include non-native plant removal, planting natives, watering, trash cleanup and Butterfly Garden maintenance. No experience is necessary; water, snacks and tools are provided. Minors aged 15 and younger must have legal guardian present at all times.

Give yourself a “time out” as OC Parks and YMCA staffs introduce your junior naturalist to the amazing natural world of the bay. Together, we’ll explorer the estuary through hands-on activities, games, outdoor nature walks and story telling.
Drop off your aspiring biologist at 9:15 in the “Kids Zone” at the YMCA of Orange County and we will escort them over to the Nature Preserve. For more information, or to register, contact Maggie Lach at (949) 722-3825 or at www.ymcaoc.org.
YMCA Individual or Program Membership required for enrollment. Additional fee for the Back Bay Explorer Program is $40.00 for 9 weeks.
