SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY – OC Public Works broke ground today on the La Pata Extension Project; the project will increase Orange County’s regional mobility by providing a north-south alternative to Interstate 5 and eliminating the existing gap between Ortega Highway to the north and Avenida Vista Hermosa to the south.
Beginning Spring of 2014, the County of Orange Public Works Department will break ground on the La Pata Avenue Gap Closure and Camino Del Rio Extension Project. The Initial Phase of the project is expected to be completed by Fall 2016. During this period, the Prima Deshecha and Forster Ridgeline Trails will be closed at the locations shown on the map. In Spring 2014, the County of Orange Public Works Department will break ground on an important transportation project - the La Pata Avenue Gap Closure and Camino Del Rio Extension Project (Project). The Project will improve South County mobility and reduce local traffic congestion by providing a north/south alternative for daily commuters and will ultimately provide an alternative access route in the event of an emergency, and will benefit the community by providing improved access to schools, residences, commercial areas, and recreational amenities.
