Our office handles property records, marriage licenses and ceremonies, birth and death certificates, and many other services. We also oversee the Orange County Archives, where materials detailing the history of Orange County can be found.

January 21, 2015  Clerk-Recorder To Offer Expanded Saturday Hours For Upcoming Valentine's DayOrange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen is making it easier for couples to get married this Valentine’s Day. The Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana and the department’s branch offices in Fullerton and Laguna Hills will be open to the public from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2015.
January 8, 2015  Clerk-Recorder Takes Oath of OfficeLast Friday, January 2, 2015, Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen took the oath of office which was administered by Orange County's 3rd District Supervisor Todd Spitzer inside the Board Hearing Room, at the County's Hall of Administration in the City of Santa Ana. By taking the oath, Clerk-Recorder Nguyen became the first Vietnamese-American ever to be elected to the position of County Clerk-Recorder in the country.
November 19, 2014  Clerk-Recorder to Open on 12/13/14 - Last Chance this Century For Couples to Marry on Consecutive Date SequenceIf you are looking to get married before the end of 2014 and are looking for an easy yet special date to remember then 12-13-14 is your day to tie the knot. The Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department will open its offices in Fullerton, Laguna Hills and at the Old County Courthouse on Saturday December, 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This date also represents the last time this century in which the day, month and year are consecutive numbers.
November 4, 2014  Orange County Clerk-Recorder Establishes Passport Processing Services at Laguna Hills Branch OfficeBeginning November 20, 2014, the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Department will begin accepting and processing passport applications at the department’s South County branch office, located at 24031 El Toro Rd., Suite 150 in the City of Laguna Hills. Passport services at the Laguna Hills office will be available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
