OCParks Design Projects
Purpose

The OC Parks Design Division provides professional design and technical oversight for the management and development of the County’s public park and recreation lands and facilities.

Management Priorities

  • Oversee preparation of General Development Plans (GDPs) and Resource Management Plans (RMPs). GDPs and RMPs direct the long-range development and management of a County park by defining broad policy and program guidance.

  • Manage OC Parks capital improvement projects to ensure costs remain within budget and projects completed on schedule. Current projects total approximately $14M.

  • Oversee preparation of plans and specifications for park construction projects, coordinate bidding and monitor construction.
  • Collaborate with private consultants, architect-engineers, County staff, other agencies, adjacent residents and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare park improvement concept designs, feasibility studies, and cost analysis.
  • Assist Program Management staff on obtaining grants and private donations for capital improvement projects.
