Habitat Restoration Sundays

8:30 am to 10:30 am

Peters Canyon Regional Park would like five volunteers per day to assist with habitat restoration. Age requirement, 18 years and up (17 years old and younger may volunteer if a parent is present.) Park staff will train volunteers in the in the removal of non-native and invasive plants and trees and the planting of native plants and trees.
Parking Fee: 3.00
Age: Anyone under 18 years old may volunteer if a parent is present.

Join Preserve staff and other volunteers in enhancing the Bay’s habitat for local wildlife. Activities may include non-native plant removal, planting natives, watering, trash cleanup and Butterfly Garden maintenance. No experience is necessary; water, snacks and tools are provided. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please phone (949) 923–2275, or e-mail unbic@ocparks.com to register or receive monthly e-mail notifications. Minors aged 15 and younger must have legal guardian present at all times.

Weed Warriors

Please join us on the last Saturday of every month in the fight against non-native plants! Help Park Rangers and volunteers destroy non-native, invasive plants and learn why we must battle to keep the park pristine for our local habitat. Mustard, Italian Thistle, Russian Thistle, Tree Tobacco, Poision Hemlock, Pampas Grass, Castor Bean & Artichoke Thistle just to name a few. We're looking for a few good WARRIORS! Caspers Wilderness Park monthly trail work day. Come join volunteers and staff to help maintain our trails for all to enjoy. Come prepared to work hard and give back to the park. We will be working with our hands, getting dirty and having fun! Trail work days are from 8am to 12pm on the last Sunday of every month. Meet at the parking lot near the entrance of Caspers.
