Habitat Restoration Sundays at Peters Canyon

8:30 am to 10:30 am

Habitat Restoration Sundays at Peters Canyon Peters Canyon Regional Park would like five volunteers per day to assist with habitat restoration at Peters Canyon. Age requirement, 18 years and up (17 years old and younger may volunteer if a parent is present.) Park staff will train volunteers in the in the removal of non-native and invasive plants and trees and the planting of native plants and trees. WHEN: Every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. Join Preserve staff and other volunteers in enhancing the Bay’s habitat for local wildlife. Activities may include non-native plant removal, planting natives, watering, trash cleanup and Butterfly Garden maintenance. No experience is necessary; water, snacks and tools are provided. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please phone (949) 923–2275, or e-mail unbic@ocparks.com to register or receive monthly e-mail notifications. Minors aged 15 and younger must have legal guardian present at all times.

Trail Work Weekend at Santiago Oaks

Come help us do trail work on the popular Barham Ridge Trail to get it ready for the winter rainy season. You can park at Santiago Oaks Regional Park or at the Anaheim Hills Elementary School lot on Serrano Rd. in Anaheim. Meet at the Barham Ridge Trail trail head near Robber’s Peak at 8am. The park will provide hand tools, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own trail work tools. Make sure to wear gloves, sturdy shoes, and bring water. Rain may cancel this event. For more information, call Ranger Jim at (714) 973-6621.

Keep It Wild Volunteer Day

Volunteers help Laguna Canyon Foundation and OC Parks staff with clean up and restoration projects.
